NRA – Basics of Rifle Shooting

The course goal is to teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a rifle safely. You should expect both classroom and range time where you will learn how to shoot various types of rifles.  You will learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; and cleaning the rifle.  We have a mix of both male and female NRA Certified Instructors.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

Location: Cameo Shooting and Education Complex (CSEC). Class starts promptly at 8:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM.

Students should bring the following equipment:  A centerfire or rimfire rifle in good condition that has been cleaned and lubricated. 150 rounds of ammunition.  Gun should be unloaded, in a bag or a box. Eye protection and electronic hearing protection. If you do not have electronic hearing protection, APG has some available to rent for $10 per day.  Ear plugs or barrier ear muffs will not be acceptable for the class. A sling is NOT required for the class.

Please register early!  We ask that you register and pay for the class a week in advance.  We need time to purchase books and schedule coaches. Minimum class size is 6 students.
