NRA Certified Instructor Course

Instructor Badge

Having completed the NRA Basic Pistol Course and the NRA Personal Protection in the Home Course, some students choose to learn more about teaching pistol safety and protection strategies. The NRA offers a course which can be taken through Action Pistol Group. After course completion, the instructor candidate will have earned credentials to be and NRA Certified Instructor (Basic Pistol and Personal Protection in the Home) and Range Safety Officer.

This course is designed to help the candidate develop the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to give powerful classroom presentations and competent, safe coaching on the range. Classes normally involve three week-day evening sessions from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. and a Saturday session of classroom instruction in the morning (8 a.m. - noon) and an afternoon  range session at either the DOW or at our Whitewater Range. The NRA Certified Instructor Class will be held when it is warranted. The cost is $160.00.

Class size is limited. Classes are offered as interest warrants, usually once per year. Please let us know if you would like to add this challenge to your list of accomplishments.

In order to be an instructor with Action Pistol Group, successful completion of the NRA Certified Instructor Course is required.
